Is an advanced academic degree for those who want to engage in high-level research, teaching, and leadership within theological studies and ministry.
PhD theology programs require about 39 to 45 semester credit hours or approximately 12 courses. These courses cover biblical studies, theological content areas, research methodologies, and language studies
- Thesis Requirements. Following exams, students submit a dissertation proposal and conduct original research culminating in the dissertation, which they must defend.
- Duration: Full-time doctoral theology programs typically span 4 to 5 years, with the first two years focused on coursework and residency, followed by exams and dissertation research.
- Adnission Requirements:A master’s degree in theology or a related field, such as a Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Theology (ThM), or an equivalent graduate theological degree.
Program Structure
RBICC requires students to submit a letter of intent in their application. In this setting, a letter of intent expresses the student’s desire to attend graduate school; the letter should be 3-5 pages long. Also including, the student’s academic achievements and accomplishments outside of school.
A minimum graduate GPA requirement, commonly around 3.0 to 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, indicating superior academic performance in prior graduate coursework.
Submission of official transcripts from all previous post-secondary education.
